Louisville Boy Prayed With a Police Officer After Flagging Her Down; Witness the Beautiful Moment in this Picture

Louisville Police Officer Jan Dykes shared, “It made me happy to see someone so young…being so positive and wanting to be that light.”

Thankfully, the officer was open to the boy’s prayer. As Jesus said in Matthew 18:2-3, “calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, ‘Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.’”

Later, Jesus reiterates the same concept, saying in Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

And the sweetness of this moment where the boy prayed for a police officer was not lost on many.

Thousands of people responded to KSLA News 12’s Facebook post.

“God bless the little children. Thank you lord for his love,” Facebook user, Debbie Mitchell Hamon shared.

Chris Smith said, “Such a brave young man to be obedient to God and pray openly what a blessing it is to see young people not afraid to pray God bless both of them.”

Robbie Moss shared, “Oh how this warms my heart. God bless you little man.”

Recognizing the unity of the officer and the little boy, Paul Barnette commented, “This is how our country is meant to be. Let’s do our best to be as good as this little guy is.”

As it says in Proverbs 17:6, “Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.”

It’s good to remember, however, that even though many of us are no longer children, when we believe in Jesus, we are His children. And we can follow the modeling of what we see in that photo: a boy prayed for a police officer. As John said in 3 John 1:4, ““I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
