“Thank You Lord! Thank You LORD!”: Nurse Explodes in Praise as Paralyzed Patient Walks Again

In a viral video that has warmed the hearts of the whole Internet, this 17-year-old girl from Denton, Texas, shocked nurses when she stood up and walked out of her wheelchair. She had been paralyzed for 11 days, and was told she had a 5 percent chance of ever walking again. The miracle, followed by her favorite nurse embracing her with sheer joy, and what looks to be the greatest hug ever, was caught on video and has now gone viral.

Bailey Murrill was horse-playing with her dad around their home when she landed on her back the wrong way and lost feeling in both of her legs. She spent the next 11 days at the Zale Lipshy University Hospital in Dallas, paralyzed from the hips down. Doctors could not find the cause for her ailment.

Throughout the entire process, Bailey said she kept her strong faith in God. “The whole time I had this attitude I would leave it in his hands and be prepared for what he decided,” she said. Bailey had bonded deeply with the nurse in the video over their shared faith in God.

On April 11, 2015, Bailey was undergoing physical therapy. It was then that she felt a sensation in her legs. Her physical therapist could see her hamstrings flexing.

Bailey was excited and wanted to surprise her favorite nurse in a special way. “She had brought me so much joy at a time I needed it that I decided to bring her some,” Bailey explained.

Becky Murrill captured the video, which shows Bailey rolling up in a wheelchair, as her favorite nurse walks toward her saying, “I heard that Bailey was looking for me.”

The nurse had just been stuck in the elevator for an hour. Little did she know, her entire day was about to change. As Bailey silently stood from her wheelchair, the nurse let out a shriek of excitement and immediately embraced Bailey in a hug that even I could feel! While squeezing Bailey like a child squeezes their new toy, the nurse cried out, “Thank you Lord! Thank you Lord!”

You can feel the emotion that filled the hallway, as the nurse tells Bailey she had been praying for her. “I’m so happy for you. I’m sooo happy for you,” the nurse told her. “See there, I told you. Just keep the faith.”

Bailey was released from the hospital two weeks before her senior prom.
