“Angels Caught Me & Jesus Loves Me”: 5-Yr-Old Thrown Off Mall of America Balcony Walks “Perfectly” After Deadly Fall

Back in April, 5-year-old Landen Hoffman was thrown from the third-floor balcony at the Mall of America, while innocently standing outside the Rainforest Café at the Mall of America.

Twenty-four-year-old Emmanuel Aranda of Minneapolis was charged with attempted premeditated first-degree murder after snatching the boy away from his mother and tossing him off the 40-foot drop.

Miraculously, Landen Survived a 40-Foot Fall at the Mall of America

In spite of taking a plunge that could have killed him, doctors reported that Landen was actually doing much better than expected just weeks later. Medical staff chalked it up to a “miracle.”

“Doctors said they found no brain damage — not even any swelling,” Landen’s pastor, Mac Hammond, told church congregants on Easter. “No spinal damage, no nerve damage … doctors are saying it is truly a miracle.”

An MRI revealed Landen did suffer head trauma, and many broken bones, including fractures on his arm, leg, and face. He also needed to have his spleen removed.

But seven months after the tragic accident, the 5-year-old miracle boy is continuing to recover by leaps and bounds and has even started walking!

On a November 22nd update posted on Landen’s GoFundMe page, the family shared he is improving from physical therapy and walking evenly on both of his legs ‘perfectly.’

He also returned to school with his brother and sister.

“He loves being back to school and goes to kindergarten,” the page read. “He gets out of the car every morning happy and blows kisses all the way in! When his mommy asks him if she can look at his wound or asks how he’s doing, he always responds with ‘Mom, I’m healed you don’t need [to check] me anymore.'”

Landen’s mother wrote that her son is strong, happy and has the kindest of hearts.

With a wisdom clearly beyond his five years, the boy also credits his miracle recovery to Jesus.

“Landen loves life and Jesus!” she wrote. “He tells people all the time when they get hurt, ‘don’t worry, I fell off a cliff, but Angels caught me and Jesus loves me, so I’m ok and you will be too!’”

Thus far, $1,054,770 has been raised toward the family’s $1 million goal to help cover medical expenses.

“Landen knows people all over the world are praying for him and he loves all the cards he keeps getting in the mail,” the family shared in an update. “His whole family feels the love and are so grateful for the prayers and people like you who care so much about others! Thank you so much for praying us home and please continue to pray for complete recovery as we are still healing!”

Aranda has since been sentenced for his crime and will serve 19 years in prison. Landen’s family reportedly didn’t attend his hearing, but they said they’ve forgiven him and will keep him in their prayers.

Vietnam Veteran’s Heartwarming Reunion with Stolen Dog After 2-Year Search

0

John Adams served in the Vietnam War decades ago. As he lived his life in rural Ohio as a disabled veteran, his beloved dog Rocky Joe brought him a great deal of joy. But, one afternoon, someone stole Rocky Joe from Adams’ front yard. Adam searched for the dog for two long years. News headlines read, “Veteran Finds Stolen Dog!”

“They came and took him, chain and all,” Adams told ABC4 News.

Vietnam War Veteran Finds Stolen Dog, After Two Years

A dog became more than simply a companion for Vietnam War veteran John Adams. In fact, Adams referred to the dog as his “son,” a miniature Doberman Pinscher named Rocky Joe.

After Rocky Joe was stolen, Adams was beside himself with grief. He searched everywhere for the dog and never gave up hope.

“I’d been praying to God all of the time about my boy, I’d like to get him back,” said Adams.

Robin Gibson of the Wild Angels Canine Rescue called Adams after she had rescued Rocky Joe from a kill shelter.

Rocky Joe was on the list to be euthanized at the shelter, and Gibson wondered if he had a microchip in him. Sure enough, he did, and Gibson quickly researched for Rocky Joe’s owner who had been searching for him.

“I tracked down his owner and had to reunite Rocky Joe with John,”Gibson told ABC4 News.

Gibson and Adams set up a time one Thursday afternoon for Gibson to deliver the dog to his rightful owner.

ABC4 News arrived about a half hour before Rocky Joe. They captured the reunion on video. Adams was nearly overcome with excitement as Gibson drove up—and was in tears as Rocky Joe jumped into his arms.

“I’m very, very happy,” said Adams. “I never thought I would get him back. Thank you, Lord, that someone found him with the chip in him before they killed him.”

Adams’ search is over, and he’s reunited with his “son,” his companion, Rocky Joe. “I must be doing something right. God answered my prayers and brought my son home to me,” he said.

Now, after two years of searching, Adams and Rocky Joe are back together.

“You Can’t Ever Be Too Protective”—Mom Defends Tracking Her Kids With Apple AirTags

0

Tech tags like Apple AirTags and Tile are all the rage. I mean, how great is it to beep your keys or wallet if you can’t find them? (Ask me how I know about the keys. Oy!) But one mom has a rather unique use for these tech tags that’s causing a bit of a dustup on TikTok: she puts them on bracelets on her two and four-year-old children and has “trained” — what does it mean when the AirTag beeps? They knew the answer.

The Kids Had to Learn What Does It Mean When the AirTag Beeps?

North Carolina mom Vada Stevens, 24, took to TikTok to share how she’s using Apple AirTags on bracelets for her little girls. She jokingly captured the video “Today we are dog training,” but some TikTok viewers don’t find it all that funny. Negative comments have ranged from “It’s giving shock collar vibes.” “to I love that she said ‘train’ instead of ‘teach,'” and “They’re not dogs, WTF.”

But Stevens doesn’t really care about the criticism: she cares about knowing where her kids are at all times. When she beeps the AirTag bracelets, her kids come running, and the peace of mind far outweighs the negatives for her.

“I am extremely paranoid about everything (related to) safety,” she told TODAY. “I thought the bracelets were genius.” She goes on to explain that her 2-year-old can take off in a hot second if she turns her head, and that the bracelets give her confidence that she can get her back to safety if she wanders off. If the toddler doesn’t respond the the bracelet’s beep, she can quickly locate her using the “Find My” app on her iPhone.

Stevens also says she really doesn’t care if other parents think she’s crazy.

“In this day and age, you can’t ever be too protective,” she says. “People think I’m a crazy mom — one even said I needed to sign my child up for therapy…I’m doing this to prevent my children from ever being taken or lost. I’m going to do my best to know exactly where they are.”

As a mom to older kids, I have mixed feelings on this. I was always anxious when my kids were little if I lost sight of them at a playground. I remember that feeling and I do not miss it at all. I strongly believe that kids need to be taught about safety and what to do if they can’t find mom or dad at a young age. However, I think that an electronic tether to mom and dad starting at toddlerhood might have ramifications that affect independence later on in life. I guess only time will tell.

On the other hand, the AirTag bracelets aren’t that different from the location app my family uses for every member of the family. Should my kids not answer a text or call, I can always find them through that, even “beeping” or messaging them. That app also has a way for them to contact help if they ever feel threatened. The main difference is that they are all old enough to decide on their own whether to respond to my communications. Heck, they can even turn their devices off if they don’t want me to know where they are!

Right or wrong, I do feel a little bit weird about putting an electronic tracking device with a “call button” on toddlers and preschoolers. It just makes me feel a bit icky. I know parenting is hard, believe me, I’ve sprinted after a wayward (and fast!) toddler a time or two in my life. I guess this is the kind of technology you employ and hope you never actually need in a desperate situation. And you also hold out hope that it’s not going to have negative psychological effects on your kids. But the bottom line is, I’m kind of glad this tech wasn’t available when my kids were young, because I might have employed it in an unhealthy way.

What is your take on using tech to track your kids, little or otherwise?

Food Poisoning vs. Stomach Bug: A Mom’s Guide to Spotting the Difference and Keeping Your Family Safe

0

When your child suddenly complains of an upset stomach, nausea, or vomiting, the cause isn’t always immediately clear. Understanding the differences between food poisoning and a stomach bug can help you respond appropriately and keep your family safe. Both conditions cause similar symptoms but have different causes and treatment needs. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you distinguish between food poisoning vs. stomach bug, know when to seek medical help, and learn some simple ways to protect your family from both.

Food Poisoning vs. Stomach Bug: Understanding the Difference

Food poisoning and stomach bugs share many symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and diarrhea. Despite these similarities, they’re caused by different pathogens and spread in different ways.

What is Food Poisoning?

Food poisoning occurs when a person consumes food or drink contaminated with bacteria, viruses, parasites, or toxins. The contamination usually happens due to improper food handling, undercooked meat, or expired foods. Common causes of food poisoning include bacteria like Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria. Symptoms can appear within a few hours of eating contaminated food, though certain bacteria can take longer to manifest.

What is a Stomach Bug?

A stomach bug, also known as viral gastroenteritis, is a contagious infection caused by viruses like norovirus or rotavirus. Unlike food poisoning, which is spread through contaminated food, a stomach bug is typically spread through close contact with an infected person or by touching contaminated surfaces. Symptoms usually appear within one to three days after exposure.

Symptoms Comparison: Food Poisoning vs. Stomach Bug

While the symptoms of food poisoning and a stomach bug can overlap, there are a few tell-tale signs that may help you determine which one is affecting your family member.

Symptoms of Food Poisoning

  • Quick Onset: Symptoms can begin anywhere from a few hours to several days after consuming contaminated food.
  • Severe Stomach Cramps: Food poisoning often causes intense stomach pain.
  • Fever and Chills: Some types of food poisoning, particularly bacterial infections, can lead to fever and chills.
  • Blood in Stool: In severe cases, food poisoning can cause bloody diarrhea, which is uncommon with stomach bugs.
  • Duration: Food poisoning symptoms may last from a few hours to several days, depending on the severity and the specific bacteria or toxin.

Symptoms of a Stomach Bug

  • Gradual Onset: Symptoms usually take a day or more to appear after exposure.
  • Body Aches and Fatigue: Viral gastroenteritis often comes with general body aches and tiredness, similar to flu-like symptoms.
  • Fever: A low-grade fever is common, especially in young children.
  • Milder Stomach Pain: Stomach bug symptoms tend to be less severe than food poisoning cramps.
  • Duration: A stomach bug generally lasts one to three days, although some cases can persist up to a week.

How to Determine If It’s Food Poisoning or a Stomach Bug

Since symptoms overlap, it can be tricky to diagnose food poisoning vs. a stomach bug without a healthcare provider’s help. Here are some clues that may help:

  • Recent Meals: If the person became sick soon after eating a specific meal, particularly if others who ate it also feel ill, it’s more likely to be food poisoning.
  • Exposure to Sick People: If there has been recent exposure to someone with similar symptoms, it could indicate a stomach bug.
  • Symptom Severity: Sudden, intense cramps, especially with blood in the stool, point more toward food poisoning.

Protecting Your Inner World: The Essential Guide on How to Guard Your Heart

0

“Guard your heart” – a phrase echoing through the corridors of time, wisdom, and countless life experiences. You can learn how to guard your heart spiritually with a healthy approach to boundaries. It’s a principle that transcends cultural and religious boundaries, yet holds a special place in the realm of spiritual teachings, particularly within Christianity.

How to Guard Your Heart Spiritually

The phrase “guard your heart” originates from a well-known Bible verse, Proverbs 4:23, which states, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” This command goes beyond mere emotional caution; it speaks to the core of our moral and spiritual center. The heart, in biblical terms, represents the seat of our emotions, thoughts, desires, will, and ultimately, our character. Guarding your heart, therefore, means protecting the most intimate parts of our being from influences that can lead to harm or corruption.

This principle emphasizes the importance of vigilance over our inner life. Just as a city would guard against attackers with walls and gates, so too must we protect our hearts from negative influences that can lead us astray or damage our spirit.

The Importance of Guarding Your Heart

Why is it vital to guard one’s heart? The heart shapes our beliefs, influences our decisions, and directs our actions. An unguarded heart is susceptible to all manner of negative influences, leading to poor decisions, toxic relationships, and a life that strays from one’s values and goals. Guarding your heart is thus essential for maintaining spiritual health and ensuring that one’s life reflects true integrity and purpose.

Emotionally and spiritually, an unguarded heart can become burdened with resentment, anger, and despair. These emotions, when unchecked, can cloud judgment and lead to destructive patterns of behavior. Conversely, a guarded heart is one that is filled with peace, clarity, and wisdom, leading to a life that is more aligned with one’s values and aspirations.

How to Guard Your Heart

Guarding your heart, as advised in Proverbs 4:23, involves several practical steps. First, it requires self-awareness: recognizing the vulnerabilities and triggers that can lead one to compromise. This might involve evaluating relationships, media consumption, and other external influences that shape one’s thoughts and emotions.

Second, it involves setting boundaries: determining what you will allow into your life and what you will keep out. This can mean ending toxic relationships, avoiding harmful habits, or steering clear of situations that tempt you to compromise your values.

12 Important Truths About Sex in Marriage Every Couple Should Know

0

Marriage brings with it a deep connection that touches many aspects of life, and a healthy sex life is one of them. Sex in marriage plays a vital role in bonding, intimacy, and overall happiness. But despite its importance, there are common misunderstandings and unspoken truths that can leave couples feeling disconnected or unsure. Whether you’re newlyweds or have been together for years, understanding these 12 truths about sex in marriage can help you maintain a meaningful and satisfying relationship with your spouse.

Understanding the Importance of Sex in Marriage

Sex in marriage isn’t just about physical intimacy; it’s a critical part of the emotional connection and communication between partners. Being open and informed about its many facets can help you foster a more fulfilling relationship. Here are 12 essential truths that every couple should know.

1. Sexual Desire Can Fluctuate Over Time

One of the most important truths about sex in marriage is that desire is not a constant. Over the years, sexual desire may ebb and flow for both partners. Hormonal changes, stress, work obligations, health issues, and other factors can influence desire. It’s essential to be understanding and communicative during these times to maintain a healthy sexual relationship.

2. Communication Is Key to Satisfaction

A healthy sex life in marriage requires open, honest communication. Many couples find it challenging to talk about their desires, needs, and even concerns. However, voicing these feelings can prevent misunderstandings and frustration. Talking openly about sex may feel awkward at first, but it leads to better emotional and physical intimacy.

3. Intimacy Extends Beyond the Bedroom

Intimacy in marriage goes beyond sexual acts. Non-sexual touch, like cuddling, holding hands, and sharing meaningful moments, builds emotional closeness, which can enhance your sex life. The more connected you feel emotionally, the stronger your physical bond can become.

4. Sex Can Strengthen Your Emotional Bond

Sex in marriage is about more than just physical pleasure. It plays a role in reinforcing the emotional bond between spouses. The hormones released during intimacy, such as oxytocin, promote feelings of closeness and affection. This bond can provide strength and resilience in your marriage, particularly during challenging times.

5. Quality Is Often More Important Than Quantity

While frequency can be a concern for many couples, quality often outweighs quantity. Couples sometimes feel pressured by societal expectations or misconceptions about how often they “should” be having sex. Prioritizing connection and mutual enjoyment over frequency can lead to a more satisfying and pressure-free sex life.

6. Physical Changes Are Normal

As couples grow older, their bodies change—and so may their sexual experiences. This is completely normal. Embracing these changes rather than feeling self-conscious about them can lead to more comfort and acceptance between partners. By acknowledging that physical changes are a part of life, couples can focus more on connection and less on appearance.

5 Unmistakable Signs of Love Bombing: A Guide to Guard Your Heart

0

In the whirlwind world of romantic relationships, the initial rush of affection and attention can be exhilarating. However, when this attention becomes overwhelming and manipulates your feelings, it may no longer be a sign of genuine love but rather a tactic known as “love bombing.” This manipulative tactic is often used by narcissists or individuals seeking to gain control by showering their partner with excessive affection, gifts, and compliments early in the relationship. Recognizing love bombing signs in a relationship is crucial for protecting your emotional well-being. Here’s a detailed guide on the signs of love bombing to watch out for and what actions you can take if you find yourself on the receiving end.

Love bombing is characterized by overwhelming attention, affection, and admiration that feels too much, too soon. It’s a red flag for potential emotional manipulation, as the bomber’s intention isn’t to build a healthy relationship but rather to gain leverage and control. Understanding these signs is the first step in safeguarding your emotional health.

5 Unmistakable Love Bombing Signs in a Relationship

1. Over-the-Top Compliments and Gifts

Early in the relationship, if you find yourself inundated with lavish gifts, frequent declarations of love, and compliments that seem disproportionate to the level of intimacy you’ve established, take heed. For instance, if someone you’ve only known for a week is already sending you expensive gifts daily or professing they’ve never felt this way before, these could be tactics to win over your affection quickly and unnaturally.

2. Constant Communication

Another sign is the overwhelming need for constant contact. If your new partner expects round-the-clock texting or calls and becomes upset or anxious when you don’t respond immediately, this is a concern. For example, they might text you multiple times throughout the day and get frustrated if you don’t reply right away, claiming they just care about you so much they can’t stand not talking to you.

3. Pressure to Commit Quickly

Love bombers often rush intimacy and commitment. They might push for exclusivity after only a few dates or pressure you to move in together or get married prematurely, claiming, “When you know, you know.” While it’s normal to feel excited about a new relationship, healthy relationships allow space and time for natural growth.

4. Isolating You from Friends and Family

A love bomber may try to monopolize your time and slowly isolate you from your support network. They might criticize your friends and family or create situations that make it difficult for you to see them, subtly suggesting that “we only need each other.” This isolation strategy can make you more dependent on the love bomber.

5. Extreme Mood Swings

If your partner exhibits extreme mood swings, swinging from excessively sweet and loving to cold and distant when things don’t go their way, it could be a manipulation tactic designed to keep you on your toes and constantly striving to get back to the “good” side of the relationship.

How to Know God’s Will: Recognizing the Doors He Opens for You

2

Life is full of decisions. Some are small and seemingly insignificant, while others have the power to shape our future. Many of us long to follow God’s plan, but with so many voices in our lives, it can be difficult to discern which path is truly from Him.

Have you ever wondered: Is this opportunity from God? Should I take this job? Move to a new city? Pursue this relationship?

Sometimes, an opportunity may look appealing, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s from God. Likewise, an open door that looks uncertain or even intimidating doesn’t mean you shouldn’t walk through it. The key is learning how to discern God’s will and recognize whether an opportunity is truly from Him.

I don’t want to miss the doors God opens because of fear, but I also don’t want to assume every opportunity is from Him just because it seems good. So how can we tell if a door is truly from God?

The Bible provides principles that help us test and discern whether an opportunity is an “open door” from God.

1. The Door That God Opens Will Never Contradict His Word

God will never lead you into something that contradicts His Word. No matter how appealing an opportunity might seem, if it requires you to compromise your faith, values, or obedience to Scripture, it is not from God.

For example, many people see a high-paying job offer as a blessing from God. However, if that job requires unethical practices, dishonesty, or neglecting fellowship with other believers, it contradicts Hebrews 10:25, which commands us not to neglect meeting together as believers.

Biblical Principle: God’s will is always aligned with His Word. If an opportunity requires disobedience to Scripture, it is not from Him.

Key Verse:
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105

Reflection Question: Does this opportunity align with biblical principles, or does it require compromise?

2. The Door That God Opens Will Be Confirmed

God is not a God of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). When He opens a door, He will often confirm it through multiple sources, such as His Word, prayer, wise counsel, and circumstances.

In Matthew 18:16, Jesus spoke about establishing a matter by the testimony of two or three witnesses. Similarly, when God opens a door, He will confirm it through various means:

  • Repeated verses or themes appearing in your personal Bible study
  • Encouragement from spiritually mature mentors or pastors
  • A consistent, undeniable leading from the Holy Spirit

For example, if you’re considering a major decision like moving to another state for a job, you might find that:
✔ A sermon you hear speaks directly to your situation.
✔ A trusted mentor gives you wisdom that aligns with what you’ve been praying about.
✔ Unexpected circumstances seem to affirm the decision.

When multiple confirmations align with God’s Word, you can have confidence that the door is truly from Him.

Key Verse:
“By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.” – 2 Corinthians 13:1

Reflection Question: Have I sought God’s confirmation through prayer, Scripture, and wise counsel?

3. The Door God Opens Will Require You to Depend on Him

God desires a deep relationship with us, and He often leads us into situations that require faith. If an opportunity makes you completely self-sufficient, causing you to feel like you don’t need God, it may not be from Him.

Matthew 6:33 reminds us to seek first the kingdom of God, and everything else will be added to us. Many times, an “open door” will stretch our faith and push us out of our comfort zones.

Think about Peter walking on water in Matthew 14:29-30. Jesus called him to step out of the boat, requiring faith and total dependence on Him. Likewise, if God is calling you to something that requires you to lean on Him daily, it may be a sign that it’s His will.

Key Verse:
“Without faith, it is impossible to please God.” – Hebrews 11:6

Reflection Question: Does this decision strengthen my dependence on God, or am I trying to do it in my own strength?

4. The Door God Opens Will Bring Peace, Not Confusion

One of the greatest indicators of whether an opportunity is from God is the presence of His peace. That doesn’t mean there won’t be challenges or uncertainties, but it does mean you will experience a deep, unshakable peace about the decision, even in the midst of difficulties.

Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us that when we bring our requests before God, His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds.

If an opportunity is causing extreme anxiety, turmoil, and confusion, it may not be from God. His direction brings clarity and confidence, not chaos.

Key Verse:
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.” – 1 Corinthians 14:33

Reflection Question: Do I feel God’s peace about this decision, or am I overwhelmed with anxiety?

5. The Door That God Opens Will Glorify Him

Everything God does is ultimately for His glory. An opportunity from Him will point others to Christ, strengthen your faith, and allow you to serve Him more effectively.

Ask yourself:
✔ Does this opportunity align with my purpose in Christ?
✔ Will it allow me to share my faith and bring others closer to God?
✔ Is this about God’s glory or my own success?

Key Verse:
“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31

Reflection Question: Does this decision ultimately bring glory to God?

Final Steps: Seeking God’s Will with Confidence

Once you have evaluated the opportunity using these principles, take these final steps to ensure you are walking in God’s will:

1. Pray for Wisdom

James 1:5 promises that if we ask for wisdom, God will give it generously.

2. Seek Counsel from Godly Mentors

Proverbs 11:14 says, “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.”

3. Take a Step of Faith

If God has confirmed the direction, step out in faith. Trust that He will guide you as you walk in obedience.

Final Encouragement

God desires for us to walk in His will. He is not trying to hide His plan from us! If you are sincerely seeking Him, He will make His direction clear in His timing.

Remember:
✅ God’s open doors never contradict His Word.
✅ He will confirm His direction through multiple ways.
✅ His plans will require faith and bring peace.
✅ The right decision will glorify Him.

No matter what decision you face, God is faithful to lead you. When you seek Him first, you can move forward in confidence knowing that He is guiding your steps.

Key Verse:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

65-Yr-Old Groom Poses With 12-Yr-Old Bride in Times Square to Give America a Dose of Reality

0

Each year, more than 15 million girls around the world are married before their 18th birthday. Children as young as six years old are sold into forced marriages with men who are old enough to be their grandfathers and great-grandfathers. A staged bride and groom pose for their wedding photos beside a busy street in New York City to raise awareness of this dreadful practice.

Bride and Groom Pose to Raise Awareness of Children (Yes, Children) Forced Into Marriage

In some communities, the men have multiple wives, while others settle for just the one child bride. But with each minute that passes throughout the day, 28 girls are robbed of their childhood.

Every two seconds, a girl who once had a hope for a future and a right to LIFE, instead becomes someone’s bride.

Of course, when we talk about childhood marriage, it’s easy to think, “Gosh, that’s terrible—I’m glad it doesn’t happen here.”

Or does it?

According to Equality Now, child marriage is LEGAL in 44 states. Only Delaware, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island have set the minimum legal age for marriage at 18 years old and eliminated any exceptions. 20 U.S. states do not require any minimum age for marriage, with a parental or judicial waiver.

Nearly 300,00 children were married in the U.S. between 2000 and 2018. The vast majority were girls wed to adult men, many much older.

What if you were in the busiest place in the United States and witnessed a young girl—maybe the same age as your own daughter—donning a white wedding gown while being paraded around by a man five times her age?

YouTube prankster Cody Persin put the people of New York City to the test.

Posing as a wedding photographer for the only halfway-happy couple, Cody snaps photos of the “child bride” and her appallingly older “groom” as the social experiment unfolds in the center of Times Square.

Dozens of people look on in shock, and it doesn’t take long for many of them to approach the young girl and offer their own voice for hers.

Some ask the timid young girl questions of concern in an effort to help, while others zone in completely on the old man, hounding him for the injustice he’s committing.

In the end, Cody’s experiment worked.

It proved that people in the United States would stand up for a child being forced into marriage because it’s wrong. But even though his experiment proved to bring out the best in people, in 20 U.S. states, even people speaking up in defense of the child would not prevent a marriage from happening.

33,000 girls are sold into marriage around the world every single day. We can only expect that number to be significantly higher now following the collapse of Iran in 2021.

The 12-year-old bride in NYC was dressed in traditional wedding attire, and people were able to SEE the injustice unfolding. But across the globe, these children are invisible. They are born into poverty and sold into poverty, and no white wedding gown exposes the generational cycle of injustice they live day in and day out.

Millions of girls are left without a voice, without a childhood and without a chance.

Albert Einstein once said, “The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.”

We have the power to give childhood back to the children.
