“Princess Bride” Actor Left in Tears After Woman on TikTok Asks if the Rumor About His Dad Is True

Since 1987, “The Princess Bride” has maintained its status as one of the greatest movies of all time. For over three decades, the film has tugged at the hearts of millions of fans—one of which recently posted a viral TikTok asking actor Mandy Patinkin (Inigo Montoya) about the meaning behind one of his scenes.

My dad passed away March of this year, 2021, from cancer,” said TikTok user Alaska Webb, stating she’d try to “do this without crying.”

That turned out to be impossible.

“I recently learned, or heard a rumor online that in the scene with Count Rugen, the six-fingered man, when it’s their famous duel, and he says you know, ‘I’ll give you anything you want.’ And he says, ‘I want my father back you son of a “B” ‘…I heard the rumor on the internet that when Mandy Patinkin said that line, he was thinking of his own father who had passed away from cancer, and it was a very raw emotion.”

Alaska desperately yearned to know if the rumor was true, as her dad had always loved “The Princess Bride,” and his favorite character was Inigo Montoya.

Not expecting her question to actually circle back to the celebrity, both Alaska and Patinkin are brought to tears as the actor watches the woman’s heart-wrenching video, and he reveals the raw truth behind that scene.
