I am an assistant principal in a middle school (grades 6-8). When I have to search a student's cell phone, I often get sick to my stomach at what I find. It gets worse and worse every year.
"I’m sorry. I’m sorry I made you cry. I know I don’t have a choice right now, but when I saw that the tears were gonna come I almost broke down myself. You miss me; I get it."
We frequently talk with our kids about making good choices. Evaluate the pros and cons, and make the good choice. But what if there isn’t one? What if all the choices just suck?
"She was ignored. 'Mama, come play with me?' she asked 4 more times. Mama glanced over at her but never got off the phone. After 10 minutes Mama ended her call."
