Mom Calls Teen to Pick Up 3-Yr-Old at Daycare in Emergency—When She Sees Her Snapchat, It Goes Viral

Every parent knows the stress of scrambling to find daycare or someone to pick up a child from school when unexpected things come up.

For Candice Curry, it was an “emergency type situation” that had her fussing for someone to retrieve her three-year-old son from daycare.

Thankfully for this mama of six, her teenage daughter was able to save the day.

Seventeen-year-old Stiles left school early to pick up her little brother.

“I thought she took him home,” Candice wrote on Facebook. “Until I saw her Snapchat.”

“Instead of missing class, she actually took her three-year-old brother back to high school with her and let him sleep on her while she finished her last class of the day.”

Candice says she’s not sure of the legalities, or what kind of rules were broken, but admits she doesn’t care.

“My sweet teenager helped her family out and returned to her other responsibility while snuggling her baby brother.

I’m either the worst mom in the world or totally nailing it. Please don’t tell me which one, let me live in ignorant bliss while I stare at this picture.”

Candice wasn’t the only one loving the picture of Stiles. The Internet went crazy for this responsible teen, and praised her for her nap time wizardry.

In the comments, teachers chimed in, saying they’d much rather students come to school with a sibling than miss class altogether.

Candice says the situation was a one-time thing, as Stiles doesn’t normally pick up her brother from school. But family emergencies happen, and her help made an already stressful situation a little easier to handle.

“My daughter asked permission from her teacher to bring him back to class, and the teacher had no problem with it. She goes to a great school that understands the importance of family and education.”

I think it’s safe to say that Candice is nailing it at this mothering thing, and Stiles is learning from the best. She also may have just scored herself a choice of babysitting gigs to last her the next decade.
