Cali proceeded to urge her followers to always go to customer service if something like this happens to you. She also asked for help with the iPhone app that alerts you of an AirTag nearby, and asked people to share information for those with Android devices.
She also encouraged people, now that they know about the car handle scheme, to be intentional with how they open their car doors.
Cali made sure to remind us that it’s not just male traffickers doing this, they also use women in their kidnapping operations.

Women Flood the Comments with Fears and Advice
As you can imagine, women flocked to the comments with fears, concerns and advice of their own.
“This happened to my friend,” one user wrote. “She had three different AirTags on her car.“

Many commenters reiterated that tow trucks don’t confirm license plates before they tow you, and that a car being towed at Walmart would be announced over the intercom before they do it.
And while both of those things may be true, we all know that the reality of a situation doesn’t always enter our minds when someone who appears to be in a position of authority, or just knowledge over us, presents us with a scary circumstance.
