WATCH: 24 Wives Prank Husbands Into Wearing Matching Shirts to Church

“What I hope people take away from the video is to show how fun church can actually be,” Tamara says, adding that the viral prank has drawn surprise and delight from people across the internet seeing how close of a “family” this church really is.

Wives’ Matching Shirt Prank Inspires More Like it

The ladies’ viral prank has inspired several other groups of women to try the same thing with their husbands. At Christmas time, a group of women at Crossroads Church in Clayton, North Carolina was able to convince all of their husbands to wear the same green flannel to a Church Christmas party.

In another video, eight wives of brothers bought their husbands the same flannel shirt for a family getaway. They gave them as a “late Christmas gift” then asked each of their husbands to wear the shirt for family pictures after dinner.

As each brother showed up to the family gathering, the confusion and hilarity took on a show of its own.

And for a church Father’s Day service last year, a slew of men at Charity Church were tricked into matching each other with bright turquoise shirts. A prank that has all of the men saying, “we can’t wait for Mother’s Day.”

Tamara’s husband Anthony says the prank works simply because as husbands, “we just do what we’re told.”
