When NYPD cop Wenjian Liu was violently murdered in an ambush in 2014, the 32-year-old had only been married for three months.

Liu and his partner, Rafael Ramos, were sitting in their patrol car in Brooklyn when crazed killer Ismaaiyl Brinsley walked up to their vehicle and fatally shot them.
He left behind a widow, Pei “Sanny’’ Xia Chen, and some harvested sperm, as Sanny hoped to one day have Liu’s children.
It’s been nearly three years since her husband passed away, and on Monday, Sanny gave birth to the couple’s healthy baby girl.

The precious little one came in at 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and 19.5 inches long.
Sanny named her Angelina, but “Angel” for short, as a tribute to her slain husband.
The day she was artificially inseminated, Sanny says she had a dream where her husband came to visit her. Dressed in a white gown, he looked down on her like an angel, and then handed her a baby saying, “It’s a girl, a little angel.”

Since that night, Sanny was sure she was having a baby girl.
The birth of Liu’s daughter was particularly emotional for the fallen officer’s parents, as he was their only son.
They were some of Angel’s first visitors at the hospital on Monday.

“The parents were very emotional, crying and holding the baby,” said Maria Dziergowski, another cop widow who empathizes with Sanny’s unimaginable loss.
Sanny has found great friends in fellow police widows, who have showered her and Angel with gifts, love and support during this bittersweet arrival.
We pray that Angel has a long, beautiful life ahead of her that honors the legacy of her brave father who risked his life daily to serve and protect others.
