“People don’t realize what they have,” Dekle says, speaking of entitlement and a lack of understanding of the sacrifice so many people made to preserve and protect the United States of America.

Dekle shared, “I want the young kids to realize that freedom comes with a heavy price. It isn’t given to people out of the goodness of others.”

What he means is, “It’s something you have to fight and sometimes die for.”

Despite how the World War II veteran cries over the values of people in America today, true to his positive nature, he pulls himself out of it and begins encouraging the television crew members to live full lives.

“Just enjoy every day as you possibly can,” he says to them.
