“For the Past 3 Months I Have Watched You”: Donnie Wahlberg’s Wife Pens Raw Letter on His Birthday

It’s not often that we get an inside look at the personal lives of celebs. I mean sure, we always have access to the never-ending tabloid gossip on our smartphones or in line at the grocery store, but most celebrities use social media to promote something they’re working on, shout out to some fans or even show that they’re just like us, and equally obsessed with Target. But, Jenny McCarthy, Donnie Wahlberg’s wife, did just that.

Nonetheless, we rarely see the more intimate details of their life and relationships. Jenny McCarthy gave us the glimpse we’ve all been hoping for.

Jenny McCarthy

The 44-year-old actress and comedian has been married to New Kids on the Block member Donnie Wahlberg since 2014. In celebration of his birthday this week, Jenny posted “a love letter” to her husband along with the photo above.

“For the past three months I have watched you pour out your heart and soul. I have seen you give hundreds, if not thousands, of hugs. I’ve seen you make every person you came into contact with feel like they were somebody special, because you do believe they are special. You have entertained all of us.”

In awe of his service to others, she reflected on the “hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars” Donnie has tipped hardworking people in Waffle Houses all over the country.

Jenny also gushed about her husband’s determination and commitment to his career:

“I’ve seen you get on a plane to work at Blue Bloods all day, only to get on an airplane that very same day to go perform your heart out at your concerts. Back on a plane then again…and repeat.”

But even his work ethic can’t compare to the way he makes those around him feel:

“I’ve seen you do all this all while making sure your fans felt appreciated. That our sons felt loved. And that your adoring wife felt cherished.”

Family is a priority, but loving on his fans is a close second. Jenny shares some of Donnie’s selfless moments she’ll “never forget.” Like the time he held a disabled woman in his arms so she’d be able to dance with him, or paying for the funerals of fans who “left us too soon.”

“Giving the shoes off your feet, the coat off your back, and the hat off your head to those whose lives changed because you did. I’ve seen you give people jobs, lead with mindfulness, stay present while those around you slept, (myself included).”
