Stranger Takes Photo of Family at Disney—Then He Promises He’s Not “Creepy” & Makes 1 Heartbreaking Request

Hilary Duff Claps Back at Body Shamers With Instagram Post Exposing Her Flaws—So They Don’t Have To

Hilary Duff has been influencing young women for almost two decades.

It started with her breakout role on the hit Disney Channel show Lizzie McGuire, but today, the “Come Clean” singer is still empowering women everywhere to love the skin they’re in.

Duff shared a photo to Instagram this week with a message to body-shamers after she was criticized for her “flaws,” while donning a bathing suit on a beach in Hawaii.

“I am posting this on behalf of young girls, women and mothers of all ages,” she began.

Duff explains that after a “long season” of shooting and having to be away from him for weeks at a time, she was simply enjoying a vacation with her son, Luca. That’s when tabloids made it their business to point out the imperfections on her backside.

“Since websites and magazines love to share ‘celeb flaws’—well I have them!”

For any rational person looking at this photo, Duff looks amazing.

She’s a mom, and she looks healthy, but more importantly, she looks REAL. All too often, we are force-fed society’s standard of perfection. I, for one, love seeing a celebrity whose legs, butt, arms and body look like mine—not some plastic, life-size Barbie.

“My body has given me the greatest gift of my life: Luca, 5 years ago. I’m turning 30 in September and my body is healthy and gets me where I need to go.

Ladies, let’s be proud of what we’ve got and stop wasting precious time in the day wishing we were different, better and unflawed.”

Duff closed by clapping back at paparazzi and tabloid magazines who “already know how to ruin a good time,” saying that their body shaming ways won’t keep her down.

In a society that dictates what we see as perfection, how we aspire to look and feeds us lies about our appearance, I’m thankful today for influencers like Hilary Duff, who stand up for what is true, and set the example for women of all ages.
