Ava Swiss, a school shooting survivor from Oxford, Michigan gave the “America’s Got Talent” judges an audition they won’t soon forget last week with an incredible performance of Lauren Daigle’s “Remember.”
"I couldn’t help the sobs. I got my boy and we moved to a secluded table and I held him as I explained what was happening... I held that 6-foot 4-inch, 175-pound boy. I rocked him as he asked if he would lose her...or both of them."
If a child is born with a hole in her heart, everyone in our society would respond the same way. We would all say, "Oh, that's so sad! Is there something we can do?" No one would ever wag his head at the child or the parents and say, "You must have done something wrong!"
He said that all the money they had would be spent on cigarettes and other "fun things" and so he would find change in their van and would buy Ramen packets at the store down the street (at 6!!!!).
Oh, you can stomp your feet. You can be angry. But, don’t live there. You can’t bully life. For it is fleeting and nothing was meant to hang around for too long.
"I was just home with my son putting him down for a nap when a lady knocked on my door saying she was with Delaware County Child Protective Services and they were here to remove Ja’vonni from my care."
