WATCH: Bride Sings to Groom “You Raise Me Up” While Walking Down the Aisle, Onlookers in Tears

Maria Holand Tosse had quite a surprise for her husband-to-be during her wedding ceremony in Norway. The professional singer who took third place in the most-watched talent show in Norway previous to her wedding, rewrote the lyrics of “You Raise Me Up” and the bride sang to the groom as she walked down the aisle with her father at her side.

“You Raise Me Up” Belted out as the Bride Sang to the Groom

The beautiful wedding ceremony for Maria Holand Tosse and her groom, Ronny Eidvisk, took place at Alusund Church in Norway.

A YouTube video captures Ronny waiting at the front of the church when the doors open, and Maria appears, with her father at her side.

She discreetly hides the microphone as an organist begins to play the traditional wedding march, but then as the notes turn to the song, “You Raise Me Up,” Maria pulls the microphone to her mouth and the moment the bride sang to the groom began.

A choir joined her on the chorus, and a brass band even chimed in during parts of the song, but the bride’s personalized lyrics brought tears to not only the groom’s eyes, but also her father’s and those attending the wedding.

Some of the personalized lyrics from when this bride sang to the groom include:

“When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary, when troubles come and my heart burdened be. Then, I am still and wait here in the silence, until you come and sit awhile with me.”

The bride’s surprise was likely so special to the groom that he will remember it forever, but she wasn’t the only one to sing.

As the bride and her father approached the front of the church, her father surprised everyone with his own words to the groom…
