I am an assistant principal in a middle school (grades 6-8). When I have to search a student's cell phone, I often get sick to my stomach at what I find. It gets worse and worse every year.
Sammy Teuch, an Indiana fourth-grader, took his own life earlier this month after enduring what his family has called relentless bullying at the hands of several students.
"The guy was screaming at her, the girl. He wasn't really gentle with her, and I started watching, because I thought he would hit her, so I approached them a little bit.”
