Though Clark claims he’s doing nothing more than stating biological facts, the judge called the father’s comments “family violence” due to his “public denial of [Maxine’s] gender identity.”
“[Clark’s] continued willingness to provide interviews to the media in which he identifies [Maxine] as female, uses a female name for [Maxine] … and expresses his opposition to the therapies [Maxine] has chosen” place her at “a significant risk of harm,” said Marzari.
The judge also issued a protection order against Clark in order to stop him from talking to the media regarding Maxine’s case.
Further, Marzari has prohibited Clark from doing anything that may lead Maxine to “question whether [her] gender identity is real or the treatments [she] seeks are in [her] best interests.”
Shockingly, despite the severe restrictions, the judge maintains that Clark’s “freedom of thought and speech” have been unaffected.
Clark’s appeal against the initial ruling regarding the male hormone injections is set for May 14.
**According to the Federalist, “Clark, Maxine, and Sarah are not the real names of the father, daughter, and mother involved. Their identities have been concealed by court order.”
