Garth Brooks Spots Couple’s “Girl? Boy?” Sign in Crowd—Then Makes a Jaw-Dropping Offer They Can’t Refuse

In the last few years, gender reveals have become quite the necessary pregnancy trend.

I mean, if you’re going to carry a growing human for nine months, it seems only fitting that you celebrate something every few months to get you through!

Some couples do boxes filled with pink or blue balloons, some do cakes with pink or blue frosting, and some get SUPER creative with it—like having the king of country music announce your baby’s gender himself!

Wesley and Katy Hansen, who are pregnant with their first child, attended a Garth Brooks concert at the Forum in Inglewood, California, on Monday night.

They had the clever idea of hoping the country superstar would help them reveal the sex of their baby. The couple crafted a sign that read: “Working on a Full House. Girl? Boy?” and held it up throughout the concert.

Garth Brooks

To their surprise, Brooks saw their poster and was intrigued, calling the couple toward the stage. Once they got there, the soon-to-be-parents handed him a sealed envelope with the results of the baby’s gender inside.

“You don’t know, and it’s in here?” Garth asked, as he took the envelope from the expecting mother. The couple said no, and told him that no matter what the gender, they had already decided the name would be Brooks no matter what.

“All of a sudden I’m nervous,” Brooks, a father of three, admitted.

When he opened the couple’s envelope, Brooks proved he’s just like the rest of us! Tearing up at the results, the country star said:

“I’ve got to tell you that I’m extremely happy for you because I have three of these.”

Then he gave the expectant parents some sound advice:

“Now you tell them that they don’t need some stinking boy to tell them how cool they are.”

It was by far the most creative gender reveal yet, and Brooks was excited to have been a part of it.

So excited, in fact, that he made the couple an offer they couldn’t believe.

“We’ll make a deal,” he said. “If I am still alive when Brooks goes to college, we’ll pay for her college.”

How’s that for a celebration?!

The whole thing was caught on video, and Brooks even tweeted about it after the show:
