It’s been a winding and painful road, but after years of heartbreak, divorce, and newfound happiness, Lysa TerKeurst announced Thursday night that she is married again.
The Proverbs 31 Ministries founder shared photos from the mountainside nuptials on Instagram, paired with an almost devotional-like retelling of the couples’ love story.
“I want to invite you in to share a new chapter in my life,” she wrote alongside a carousel of photos from the couple’s wedding last week.

Quoting an old tale about a farmer, TerKeurst says the man’s response to both high-highs and low-lows was always “we’ll see.”
“Saying ‘we’ll see’ doesn’t diminish the good. But it does mean we can look at life through the lens of a continuous story rather than isolated circumstances.” She continues, “And although we will face unkindness and unfaithfulness in people, hope is not lost because God is kind. God is faithful.”
Lysa TerKeurst’s Heartbreaking Past and Journey to Love
TerKeurst has had a hard several years—something she is now seeing through the lens of “we’ll see.”
In 2018, TerKeurst was diagnosed with breast cancer. Around that same time she discovered her now-ex-husband Art’s ongoing infidelity and hidden addictions.
Though the couple worked hard to reconcile, and even renewed their wedding vows in December of 2018, TerKeurst eventually announced on January 2, 2022 that the couple was divorcing after 29 years following Art’s continued unfaithfulness.
“Over the past several years, I have fought really hard to not just save my marriage, but to survive the devastation of what consistent deception of one spouse does to the other,” TerKeurst wrote in an Instagram post. “It’s brutal and heart crushing to constantly fear the hurtful choices of someone you love. I’ve had to learn the hard way there’s a big difference between mistakes (which we all make) and chosen patterns of behavior that dishonor God and the biblical covenant of marriage.”
Lysa TerKeurst Finds Love Again
In Thursday’s post, TerKeurst explains that she met her now-husband Chaz Adams in January of 2023.
“As the pages kept turning last year, we knew what we’d found in each other was love,” she writes. “A beautiful lobe that requires work like love always does, But a togetherness that is safe, honest, fun, funny, and surrendered to the sacred way God tells us to love and care for each other.”
After introducing her new love in a still very private manner last June, TerKeurst says the two got engaged last fall, which she decided to “hold private” so she could tell as many people as possible face-to-face.
“And then last week, surrounded by our family and some beautiful mountains, Chaz and I exchanged our vows,” she continues. “ As soon as we were announced husband and wife, some fun music started playing. I invited our kids and grandkids to join in as we all danced in the gently falling snow.”
“I felt God’s kindness, I saw His provision. I let tears of pure joy fall freely.”
We are championing Lysa and Chaz in their newest adventure and celebrating God’s kindness right alongside them! Congratulations to the happy couple!
