While Trump-bashing seems to have become a full-time job for many celebrities, Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson is taking a less popular, but much more admirable, approach.
In a recently released YouTube video, the outspoken Christian reality star urges fans to come alongside her in praying for President Trump and the welfare of our country.
“Let’s send him some love,” says Sadie. “It’s not about what he deserves. It’s not about that. It’s about what we believe, and Mr. Trump, if you’re watching this, I am rooting for you, and I want you to know I believe the best in you.”
Though she admits she doesn’t even like Twitter, she asks fans to use it to “send some love” his way, as that is clearly his platform of choice.
“I want to help shape the passion and the love of our generation and of this generation, and I don’t want to spend my time on things that aren’t making a difference,” she adds.
The best part is that Sadie’s message is not politically-charged and focused on dissecting issues, but rather on lifting up our leader in prayer as the Bible commands:
“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” ~1 Timothy 2:1-2
Unwilling to cater to the opinion of man on what some may consider a “crazy” endeavor, she petitions boldly for God to move on our country’s behalf:
“I thank you that you are still God even when our nations are in chaos… I pray as a nation tonight, whoever’s watching this around the world. They can think I’m crazy and God, I don’t care. I give you crazy. I give you the thought of shame. I give you the thought of self-doubt. I give you the thoughts of worry of what people think of me, because God I so desperately want for this country to come together.”
Drawing upon a wisdom beyond her years, the 20-year-old’s edifying message is an encouragement to believers of all ages.
