"He took up a lot of space. Moving around us. Weaving in and out of the aisles. Some ladies were annoyed. An old man behind us snickered and under his breath said, ‘hurry up.’"
“To be able to help all these women is amazing. This can be life-changing for these women,” DeAngelo says of his foundation’s accomplishment. “We are enabling them to get this care that no one should ever be denied or not have access to.”
After eight rounds of chemotherapy, Jessie was a survivor. She rang the “chemo bell” at her treatment center as a declaration of victory. Then her nurses asked her to sing.
"I've just kind of dreaded telling you because I think people will think, 'What in the world? Like how in the world could this be added on to everything else you've already faced?'"
