Night owls— you are my people. We can not be changed. We are just as productive. We are just as valuable. And I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s totally acceptable to cook tacos or rearrange furniture at midnight.
We will be awakened because while we once thought we were in control, we never really were. We will see how fragile life is and that the Author of Life is the only One in control.
I am a former EMT. I volunteered in an emergency room. I have been a licensed attorney and active duty Army Officer for nine years. I have represented and helped over 60 sexual assault victims. I have cleared the names of wrongfully convicted criminals. Who would want to hurt me? Well, none of that matters because…I am still a black man who jogs.
We may not be called to give up our jobs or leave our families in the same way, but walking with Jesus is far more than adding God as a helpful accessory to our busy lives.
