A week after his suicide rocked the nation, the wife of late Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington has finally broken her silence, and has an encouraging message for fans everywhere.
Talinda Bennington reflected on the past week of her life, and the inexplainable sorrow she’s experienced with her children.
“One week ago, I lost my soulmate and my children lost their hero—their Daddy. We had a fairytale life and now it has turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy.”
The 40-year-old model has been married to the 41-year-old rocker for 12 years. She says though she’s feeling the overwhelming amount of love and support from fans, it doesn’t change the weight of her loss.
“How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered soul?”

“The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of love I have left.”
In addition to Chester and Talinda’s three children, the LP frontman also had three more children from previous relationships.

His widow says she’s confident that his fans, friends and family will keep Chester’s memory alive.
“He was a bright, loving soul with an angel’s voice. And now he is pain free, singing his songs in all of our hearts.”
She closed with a word of support and encouragement to everyone hearing her cry:
“May God bless us all and help us turn to one another when we are in pain. Chester would’ve wanted us to do so. Rest In Peace, my love.”
Chester was found on July 20 hanged in his home in Los Angeles. It would have been the 53rd birthday of fellow rocker and close friend Chris Cornell, who also hanged himself in May.
Following Chester’s death, Linkin Park announced the cancellation of their tour, which would have kicked off this week.
Our continued prayers are with Talinda, the Bennington family and everyone touched by this tragic turn of events.
