WATCH: Lauren Daigle Takes ‘Good Morning America’ to Church Singing “You Say” on Live TV

Lauren Daigle continues to make headlines this year after her new album “Look Up Child” debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart in September, beating out pop artists like Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, and Cardi B.

Since then, the Christian artist who intentionally evokes crossover appeal in the secular music world has appeared on high-profile TV shows like “Dancing With the Stars”, “The Tonight Show“, and “Ellen“.

Though she took some heat for appearing on a show with a gay host and giving a wishy-washy reply to her stance on homosexuality, Daigle continues to live out her calling by spreading the gospel through her ever-growing platform, regardless of the venue and criticism.

When faced with backlash for singing on “Ellen”, Daigle remarked she “can’t choose who [she’s] supposed to be kind to and who [she’s] not, because that’s the mission, right? Be who Christ was to everyone as well.”

“We have this saying in my team that’s called ‘Extend the tent pegs,’” the singer said in an interview with the Associated Press. “And it’s not to leave behind anybody that has listened to this music so far and that has been along this journey with me because I am 100 percent grateful. So I don’t want to leave anybody behind, but how to do I also make music that people who might not listen to Christian music they can also connect to? They can also relate to? That’s super-important to me to make music that permeates all the walls and just tear all the walls down. People need love, people need hope. People need joy anywhere in life.”

Most recently, Daigle has performed her hit single “You Say” on ABC’s “Good Morning America”, and once again she’s blown the roof off with her signature voice compared to the likes of Adele and her humble heart postured toward the Lord most high.
