“I’ve Got News for You”: Bill Murray Drops a Bombshell on Young Couple’s Parents at Cubs Game

When it comes to Hollywood names, Bill Murray is not like the rest. Unlike many of his peers and fellow actors, you won’t find Murray at a lavish cocktail party in Hollywood Hills. The down-to-earth comedian is more likely to be sitting behind home plate at Wrigley Field, cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs.

That’s exactly where Robbie and Kirsten Schloss found him last week.

The couple had seats next to Murray for Monday night’s game against the Washington Nationals. Robbie says they all “talked casually” during the game and Murray playfully goofed around with them as they cheered on the home team.

“After the Cubs win I told Bill I needed him to make our pregnancy announcement,” Robbie wrote on Facebook.

He says that because he and Kirsten had struggled with infertility for so long, they had decided to wait a while before making it public. But the opportunity to get Bill Murray in on the announcement was “too fun to pass up.”

Robbie says that Bill gladly recorded the video message for them, in which he spoke to the couple’s parents saying, “I’ve got news for you, you’re going to be grandparents.”

Some of the remaining crowd around them even joined into the excitement, adding cheers and celebration at the end of the recording.

Robbie says his father-in-law is a long-time Cubs fan, so it was even more special sending the announcement to him from Wrigley Field.

“Bill Murray, thank you for making my parents cry!”

Congratulations Robbie and Kirsten! Your newest “Cubbie” will be here just in time for opening day! April 2018.
