“I Know Their Names”—School Resource Officer Warns Parents About Sex Trafficking & How Our Kids Are Being Groomed Online

0

I have found that most people don’t understand sex trafficking outside of the extreme scenes on television where a young woman is kidnapped in another country and sold to wealthy people as slaves.

So let’s discuss a side of sex trafficking most people don’t know about and happens in lots of towns with kids you might know. This will happen in any town that has internet and Wi-Fi available to kids.

I know their names.

How do I know sex trafficking exists in Boise? And in every other town in America?Through my job as a school resource officer I’ve acquired fake social media accounts of every kind. I’ve used those accounts to track down predators and lots of runaway kids. In the process of watching what happens on social media between kids I have learned a great many things about sex trafficking and all of the other things our kids are engaging in online.

My wife and I have taken very tough-case teens into our homes for the last 15 years. When you have tough-case kids in your home you also have their friends in your home.  It is in those friends that my wife and I were educated on an aspect of sex trafficking that most people will never see.  My wife and I learned the names of teen girls who are already part of the sex trafficking right here in our local area.

It starts young.

Snapchat is full of people waiting to traffic your children. Step number one is to desensitize them to sex trafficking.  High school age drug dealers (15-25) will often give multiple prices to young females seeking drugs.

Marijuana zip (Approximately gallon zip lock bag)

Straight Price = $150

Price with nudes (depending on perceived hotness of girl) $110

Price with blowjob = $80

This is sex trafficking and it begins with 7th and 8th grade girls that are trading sex for drugs, cell phones, alcohol, car rides, and much more.

Runaways

There are many young female runaways (15-18) that will trade sex for a place to live.  These young girls usually don’t get along with their parents and will start couch surfing at different locations.  A lot of times these young girls end up staying a couple of days to a couple of weeks at low level drug dealer houses.

Patrick Mahomes Leads Kansas City Chiefs to Super Bowl, Gives God All the Glory

After a week of being questionable for Sunday’s AFC Championship game due to an ankle injury, Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is giving God the credit for helping him lead his team to victory.

In a last minute 23-20 win against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Chiefs sealed their ticket to the Super Bowl for the third time in four years.

Mahomes played the full game on an injured right ankle, something he says he was only able to do because of God.

“I wanna thank God man, he healed my body this week and gave me the strength to be out here,” he told CBS reporter Tracy Wolfson in a LIVE post-game interview.

In Sunday’s post-game press conference, Mahomes said he wasn’t expecting to be able to run on [the ankle] as much due to limited mobility. Still, the 27-year-old managed to move the ball forward, throwing for 326 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday’s game.

This isn’t the first time Mahomes has been outspoken about his faith in God. After winning Super Bowl LIV in 2020 and being named Super Bowl MVP, Mahomes put God in the spotlight, praising Him for his success and being the Rock upon which he stands.

The all-star QB explained that he tries daily to humble himself and glorify God in all that he does. Regardless of how he performs, Mahomes knows that all He does in Christ is counted as success, and all done merely by his own strength is counted as loss. Knowing where his identity rests allows him to keep his ‘head held high.’

“Doing what I do every single day, and then knowing that as long I’m doing everything the right way, the way that He’d want me to do it, then I can walk off the field with my head held high and be able to be the man that I’m supposed to be,” said Mahomes. “It’s given me a lot of blessing in my life and I’m trying to maximize and glorify Him in everything I do.”

In an interview on the field, Mahomes shared that his team never lost faith throughout the duration of their hard-fought road to football’s biggest stage.

“We never lost faith, that’s the biggest thing,” said Mahomes. “Everybody on this team, no one has their head down and we believe in each other and that’s what we preached all year long.”

WATCH: Premature Baby Raises Hand in Worship as Father Sings in the NICU

A Texas father, 33-year-old Daniel Johnson, went viral after posting a video of himself singing to his two and a half month old baby boy who was born four months premature.

“That moment you’re singing a worship song to your NICU baby and he raises his hands in worship,” Johnson’s video said.

@fritojohnson89 Remington Hayze Johnson. Proof that God is faithful. Born 4 months early and given a 21% chance of survival. Today we are 2 1/2 months old giving God all the praise He deserves. #worship #nicu #nicubaby #dadsinging #elevationworship ♬ original sound – Daniel Johnson

Johnson, who drives a truck for living, wrote the comment that his son, Remington Hayze Johnson, is “proof that God is faithful.” According to Johnson, his son was given only a 21% chance of survival, but “today we are 2 1/2 months old giving God all the praise He deserves.”

Johnson’s wife, Emily, took the video, which shows her husband holding their newborn son and singing “Hallelujah Here Below,” a worship song by Elevation Worship.

“Should the fire that once burned bright become an ember my eyes can’t see. I will remember your sacrifice. I will abide in your love for me. Oh, we sing hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. We sing hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah,” Johnson sang.

As Johnson sang the words, “Hallelujah, hallelujah,” baby Remington raised his little hand in the air like he was praising Jesus alongside his father.

Baby Remington brought a smile to his soft-singing father’s face, which quickly turned to tears of joy as he looked at his son hooked up to a medical system that helps him breathe.

With over 1.2 million views, Johnson’s TikTok video has received over 236,000 likes and inspired more than 12,500 people to post a comment.

One person said, “This has me in tears!! Anyone who sees this has to believe there is a mighty God!! Bless his little heart!” Another wrote, “Wherever two or more are gathered— our Father God was there with you and your sweet baby. Prayers and hugs for you all.”

Another commented, “Baby’s hands went right up on Hallelujah. The highest praise…be exalted Father.”

During an interview with “Good Morning America,” Emily explained that after doctors performed an emergency C-section after her contractions wouldn’t stop.

Mom Charged as a Felon After 3-Month-Old Baby Dies from This Common Parenting Mistake

We’ve all been there. The baby is on the changing table, diaper wide open and full of something that could make your eyes, nose and throat bleed just from being in the same room, when you realize that the ONE thing you desperately need in this moment—baby wipes—are nowhere to be found. What do you do?

That blowout of a diaper is not about to touch your floor and make a bigger mess, and you know that there is a full package of wipes in the bathroom—just 12 steps away. If you run fast, it’s really only like, four steps. You distract the baby with absolutely anything you can get your hands on, and—in your sprinting pursuit to the bathroom and back—seriously question why mommy-races aren’t an Olympic event.

It may be scary to admit, but there are some cases where every parent has done it for a “just a quick second.” Nobody intentionally leaves their child on a changing table. It sits higher than any piece of furniture your infant will ever come in contact with, and the chance of them falling off is horrifying. But for that split second post-blowout, it happens on rare occasion.

Parents Laci Lynn Taylor and Don Taylor lost their 3-month-old baby girl to a changing table accident. The sudden death of baby RemmeLyn still gives the couple nightmares.

According to the Des Moines Register, Laci had left her sleeping daughter on the changing table while she left to warm up a bottle. Granted, warming a bottle isn’t quite the same as racing to the next room and back, but RemmeLyn was asleep, so Laci wasn’t as nervous about her wiggling off.

In the short time that Laci was apart from her daughter, the infant rolled over into a position that cut off her air supply, and ultimately killed her.

Discover Lasting Love with These 10 Timeless Wedding Bible Verses

Weddings are a special moment in the life of any couple. As they come together to be united in matrimony, couples often turn to the Bible to find Bible verses that are perfect for their wedding day.

Whether they are looking for a way to express their love and commitment to their partner, guidance and direction for their marriage, or wanting to share their faith and celebrate with their family and friends, there are plenty of Bible verses for weddings to choose from.

While there are countless Bible verses to pick from, here are 10 that are perfect for your wedding day.

10 Bible Verses That Are Perfect for Your Wedding

1. Psalm 128:3

“Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive plants around your table.”

This beautiful verse from Psalm 128 is a reminder to the couple that their marriage is a blessing from God and that their children and family will be a blessing too. It inspires the couple to stay true and loving to each other and to remain a devoted family.

2. Proverbs 18:22

“He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.”

This verse from Proverbs speaks of the joy and blessing of finding a wife. It’s a reminder to the couple that they are being blessed by God with a life-long partner who will bring joy and contentment into their lives.

3. Song of Solomon 2:16

“My beloved is mine and I am his; he browses among the lilies.”

This beautiful verse from the Song of Solomon paints a powerful picture of love and devotion between the couple. It speaks of the mutual love and admiration that each of them has for the other.

4. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

This Bible verse from 1 Corinthians is perhaps the most famous verse when it comes to any wedding. It is a reminder to the couple to show patience and kindness to each other, to never give up on love, and to always persevere in their relationship.

10 Ways You’re Unknowingly Disrespecting Your Husband

0

I have mentioned before that just as a woman desires to feel loved, your husband equally desires to feel respected. Respect, in all forms, speaks volumes to men and often results in them feeling worthy of their wife’s affections.

As you can imagine, talking about this with my husband stirred up some really important conversations between the two of us and I’m really glad that it did! Sometimes we can be so blinded to our own shortcomings that we have to take the time to ask our spouses to boldly and lovingly share them with us.

10 Ways You’re Unknowingly Disrespecting Your Husband

1. Emotional Manipulation of Your Husband

Do you ever use your moods to control your husband’s response?  For example: Have you ever responded curtly with, “Nope. It’s fine. I don’t care” — when it actually isn’t fine and you do care? Guilt trips, using the words “always” and “never”, aggression or passive aggression, the silent treatment, doling out ultimatums, crying for pity or exaggerating disappointment are many of the ways that women emotionally manipulate their spouses.

Friends, I want to encourage you to use your words. Be honest in the disappointment or sadness that you feel — nobody is telling you to suppress your emotions — but there is a boundary in knowing what you are saying to help your marriage versus what you are saying to control your marriage.

2. Mothering Your Husband

Okay, guys, I can be such a mom — in every sense of the word. But gosh, it’s damaging, and especially to my marriage. We have gotten to a place where I have recognized that this is a struggle for me and am actively choosing my words [and] actions more wisely, but that hasn’t always been the case. And I believe in many marriages, the wife acts like her husband’s mother, but because she thinks that it’s what’s ‘best’, she avoids the issue and drains her husband of all independence and joy.

If you are regularly telling your husband what’s best for him or making your own convictions his convictions, it’s likely that you’re playing the role of ‘mom’ rather than the role of ‘wife’. This tends to make a man feel smaller and smaller in his role as your protector.

Struggling Family-Owned Pizzeria Can Barely Make Rent—Then One Viral TikTok Review Changed Everything

0

You may have heard about the TikTok review that promoted the creation of a new option on Chipotle’s menu, but did you know about what happened with the local pizzeria in Las Vegas? The restaurant, Frankensons, was struggling to even pay rent when a TikTok review changed everything.

Local Pizzeria is Featured in a TikTok Review

Frank Steele of Las Vegas, Nevada was concerned about his family-owned business, a local pizzeria called Frankensons that was struggling after just four months of being opened. But according to his employees, the problem wasn’t the food. It was the lack of money for marketing.

The restaurant had looked into marketing, receiving an offer from an influencer who quoted Frankensons $2,600 for a review. Unfortunately, at the time was struggling to even pay their rent in Las Vegas, bringing in only $400 on their best day.

That’s when an employee stepped in and reach out to up-and-coming TikTok influencer, keith_lee125.

According to Lee, the employee reached out via email, explaining that Frankensons’ food was delicious but the restaurant was not getting business.

“The email read, ‘I’m an employee at Frankensons Pizzeria,'” said Lee on his TikTok review. “It’s really slow. We really can’t afford rent, but we would love for you to come and try the food.”

Check out Lee’s TikTok review here:

@keith_lee125 Frankensons Pizzeria Taste test 💕 would you try it ? 💕 #foodcritic ♬ original sound – Keith Lee

Lee told his viewers, “I didn’t charge absolutely anything, and I bought my own food. This taste test is to really see: Is it really the marketing, or is the food bad?”

According to his review, Steele was there to serve Lee when he visited, and Lee had a good first impression of Steele saying, “Frank was so dope. He took his time, he was patient.”

But Steele’s friendly nature was genuine. He didn’t know who Lee was when he entered the local pizzeria.

“I had this guy come in and didn’t know who he was, and I started talking to him because I like talking to all my customers,” explained the restaurant owner.  “I asked him where he was from and what he did for work and that’s when he said he was a food critic.”

Luckily for Frankensons’ the food was a great experience, too. According to Lee, he paid $86.73 for the food, purchasing pizza, garlic knots, an Italian sub, and Frankensons’ wings, among some other items. And it apparently was worth every penny.

After eating some of a lemon pepper chicken wing, Lee said in his TikTok review of the local pizzeria, “This is one of the best wings I’ve ever had, this is a 10.”

And Lee seemed to be honest, saying he didn’t love the ranch or the fries.

Thankfully for Frankensons, this TikTok review went viral and made the local pizzeria famous. As I write this, Lee’s review has 7.7 million views, nearly 69,000 shares, and nearly 68,000 comments.

So how did it impact Frankensons?

To the Husband I’ve Neglected for 4 ½ Years, There’s Something You Need to Know

0

Dear Husband,

I am sorry.

I’m sorry that you’ve been neglected for the last four-and-a-half years. I’m sorry that your needs are secondary. I assure you, you are still one of my top priorities—you just aren’t on the top of the list anymore.

I know that you have needs, wants, dreams and desires. When I tell you that I want to be the one you lean on, I mean it. I know you are tired of my excuses of being tired, having a headache or am already snoring when you snuggle up next to me. Trust me, I wish I had the energy I had five years ago. Hell, I wish I had the energy I had two weeks ago when I washed, folded and actually put away all 10 loads of laundry. Of course, you didn’t see that because I was letting you get some much needed sleep.

I know that some days it feels like we have a business partnership. And you’re right. Some days—even weeks—feel that way. Know that I want better for our marriage, for us. Because together, we are darn good.

The problem is, my life, my brain and my body are so wrapped up in being a mother to those little boys who look exactly like you. Even after they’re sound asleep and we’re sitting on the couch watching a movie, my brain is still in mother mode.

I’m thinking about tomorrow; I’m thinking about 10 years from now. I’m wondering if you have work clothes for tomorrow. I’m worried about money, milestones and milk. Do we have enough milk? I can’t turn off being a mom. It is who I am now. And it is physically, emotionally and mentally exhausting.

Wife’s “Unsolved Mystery” Eats Away at Her—17 Yrs Later, Her Husband’s Discovery Knocks Her to the Floor

We can all agree that an engagement ring is a sentimental token of love.

You can imagine the heartbreak that Kay Butler experienced 17 years ago when she lost her most treasured possession: her diamond engagement ring. Having been married for 38 years at the time to her high school sweetheart, Dave, that little ring held more sentimental value than anything else she owned.

Though the family searched high and low for months, nobody had ever found it. They decided it was either lost somewhere in public, or stolen. It was an unsolved mystery that gnawed at her for years.

Of course, Kay never stopped looking for her ring. She’d always hoped it would turn up someday.

Dave was a searching for some DVDs around the house one day when he came across a wooden box. Inside, was the missing engagement ring!

It had been nearly two decades since Kay had that ring around her finger. “We knew reuniting them was going to be emotional enough, but dad and I had to add a twist,” Kay and Dave’s daughter Lacey wrote.

After 38 years of marriage, Dave went and found Kay in the garage where she was cleaning the pantry. He got down on one knee behind her and waited for her to turn around. Then, after years of searching and hoping, Dave proposed to his wife with HER engagement ring—and it fit! After all those years.

We can’t help but smile at the joy that Lacey captured in this video of her mom and dad.

Amber Alert for 1-Year-Old Boy Prompts a Vigilant Grandmother Into Action

0

When one receives an Amber Alert, they may try to keep their eyes peeled. But Barbara Gusse was vigilant when she realized a stolen car was taken near her home. This is the story of how the Minnesota grandma saved a baby.

How One Minnesota Grandma Saved a Baby

One-year-old Da’Merion Ni’mer White was strapped into his car seat when his mother realized she forgot something inside. With the car still running, the mother ran inside, and that’s when the worst happened.

A criminal witnessing this, hopped in the 2005 white Grand Cherokee Jeep and drove away with the baby inside it, essentially kidnapping the child.

As soon as the mother realized her vehicle was gone, she alerted authorities and an Amber Alert went out with a description of the vehicle and the baby inside it.

The Amber Alert said, “According to police, at 12:17 p.m., a vehicle was stolen from the 4200 block of Humboldt Avenue North with a 1-year-old boy in the back seat.”

Naturally, the mother was terrified for her baby inside the vehicle, as were local authorities who heard the news. Authorities recommended that people in the area “check their driveways and alleys for the vehicle” and “Call 911 if anyone spots the vehicle.”

According to the Amber Alert, “Before going into the residence, the mother described a Black male with black clothing walking down the road.”

John Elder from the Minneapolis, Minnesota police department said that in addition to the Amber Alert, “Every available officer from all five precincts were up in that area looking,” explaining the state troopers were looking, along with every force they had available.

Just three miles away was Barbara Gusse, who was birdwatching at her home when she saw the Amber Alert.

Gusse told reporters in a Fox 9 interview that when she saw the Amber Aler, “You can imagine…I was shaking really bad.”

According to Gusse, when she had been out birdwatching, something had caught her attention.

“I went out to feed my birds and I seen that white car sitting in the parking lot of the church right here,” Gusse said. “And I thought well…and it’s running, and I couldn’t see anybody in it.”

To Gusse, this was strange; so when the Amber Alert went off, she put the dots together, noticing the description of the vehicle.

Conviction for A Colorado Funeral Home Director Selling Body Parts Illegally

0

A funeral home director selling body parts in Montrose, Colorado was convicted and sentenced last week, along with her mother who helped.

Conviction for a Funeral Home Director Selling Body Parts

In 2020, 46-year-old Megan Hess of Montrose, Colorado, and her mother, 69-year-old Shirley Koch were arrested, convicted, and charged for illegally transporting hazardous materials and mail fraud, according to ABC News.

However, that isn’t the worst of it. It was found the funeral home director selling body parts without the families’ consent. The mother-daughter duo was reportedly working together to cut up the bodies that were supposed to be cremated, selling them, and sending them to research facilities to make some extra cash.

“Without knowledge or consent, the women disrespected the wishes of the grieving victims and degraded the bodies of their family members to sell them for profit,” Leonard Carollo, FBI Denver Acting Special Agent in Charge said of the funeral home director selling body parts. “These two criminals continued in their atrocities for years, showing no remorse or contrition even after they were exposed. Nothing can guarantee solace for the victims or repair the damage done, but perhaps this sentence can mark the end of a horrible chapter in their lives.”

Check out this YouTube popular video discussing the news story:

According to the grand jury indictment, this happened for eight years, from 2010 to 2018. The funeral home director selling body parts charged $1,000 to families who wanted their deceased family members’ bodies cremated, and instead of cremation, the two women cut up the bodies and illegally sold them to research.

While the use of deceased body parts for research is not uncommon, it is often focused on skin samples or tumors and the families are involved in the decision. This was not the case with this mother and daughter in Montrose, Colorado.

“These two women preyed on vulnerable victims who turned to them in a time of grief and sadness,” said Carollo. “But instead of offering guidance, these greedy women betrayed the trust of hundreds of victims and mutilated their loved ones.”

On January 4, 2023 in Grand Junction, Colorado, a conviction and sentencing was given to the funeral home director selling body parts. Investigators found that not only were they illegally selling body parts, but they certified to buyers that the body parts were free of disease, when in reality Hess sent parts infected with diseases such as HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.
